Learning & Development Manager

PE is searching for a Learning & Development Manager to join our team!
Summary
The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for employee learning and development to support our organizations goals. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges applicable training solutions for leadership and employees. This position creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance and recognize performance. The role also supports coordination of training activities at partnered surgery centers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilites (Other duties may be assigned)
Works collaboratively with SVP, HR, human resources, the leadership team and cross-functional departments to:
Conduct learning and development needs assessment to determine organization-wide training needs.
Propose learning and development programs to meet organizational objectives.
Monitor learning and development spending against the departmental budget.
Obtain and/or develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
Train and coach managers, supervisors and employees in development efforts.
Develop train-the-trainer programs to help departmental, technical trainers who provide on-the-job training.
Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events.
Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results and modifies programs as needed.
Manage new hire orientation and onboarding programs, ensuring company culture and all relevant information is being shared for effective onboarding.
Design and conduct training programs at PE including required annual training and documentation of training completion.
Annual HIPAA & Compliance training
Anti-Harassment and Anti-Discrimination
Other new programs as determined to ensure education, awareness and legal compliance
Integrate Learning Management System (LMS) into training plans to provide multi-faceted employee development plans
Develop and manage multiple initiatives such as the following, in addition to ideas brought forth by Learning and Development Manager:
Formal career path programs at PE.
Assist with departmental succession and talent planning.
Corporate manager training program for newly hired and promoted supervisors and managers.
Establish mentorship program.
Coordinate and/or conduct lunch and learn sessions at PE based on feedback and needs.
Other initiatives as requested by the leadership team.
Develop and maintain organizational communications such as emails, bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Work effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff.
Coordinate and manage outside training resources and vendors.
Provide guidance on development of leadership development programs for the top leadership team.
Manage outside relationships with vendors, local universities and other providers to supplement internal efforts.
Provides training support and resources to partnered centers, at times delivering training programs to meet center objectives or requirements.
Necessary Skills & Abilities
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be a dynamic speaker, who is able to deliver programs from small groups to hundreds of individuals.
Strong computer skills including presentations using Power Point.
Able to influence without authority and provide coaching and guidance to individuals and managers.
Possesses strong leadership skills to consult in area of management development.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage, plan, and prioritize work.
Must be a creative, out-of-the-box strategic thinker.
Strong service orientation required.
The successful candidate will have the following experience or knowledge in the following areas:
Bachelors degree required. Masters degree in a related field a plus.
Minimum of 10 years of training or learning and development experience.
CPLP, SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
Proven experience initiating change and making measurable improvements with employee development at small to medium-sized organizations.
Experience starting and establishing a training department a plus.
Healthcare or consulting experience a plus, not required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
