PE is searching for a Director, Payer Contracting to join our team!
SUMMARY
The Director, Payer Contracting will be integral to the growth and success of the department. In this role, the individual is primarily responsible for managing the Support staff in the Payer Contracting department, identifying key operational issues and opportunities for process improvement, as well as drafting and implementation of recommendations. This position requires a high degree of organization, assertive, yet professional communications, as well as managerial skills needed to oversee the department staff. This position will work collaboratively with the various departments at PE to oversee initiatives.
The key areas of focus will be on staff development and accountability for operational performance results. This person will also provide hands-on management and support for day-to-day activities within the team. This position will foster and facilitate relationships within PE as well as with our various external customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)
Develop and maintain efficiencies in credentialing process, billing issue resolution, rate matrix maintenance and general contracting process.
Interact cross-functionally within PE departments Operations, Finance, and Billing.
Provide leadership to staff as well as develop and implement metrics to meet performance objectives.
Monitor and provide feedback to employee on performance.
Mentor staff to implement improved processes.
Keep current on regional and national industry events that may impact the business.
Provide weekly report of all activities.
Other duties as assigned.
NECESSARY SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to serve as a trainer, mentor and leader for various levels of employees.
Proficient in computer programs including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 7 years experience in a healthcare service operations role, for example a physicians practice or billing manager
Prior Experience with facility and/or physician credentialing a plus
Working knowledge/understanding of billing issue resolution.
BS or equivalent college degree.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
