PE is looking for an Accounting Intern to join the Team!
General Information:
The term dates may vary slightly to accommodate the university or college program requirements or student graduation dates.
The hours are 24-40 hours per week. The work schedule is set based on the interns availability/class schedule. There is flexibility to accommodate mid-terms, final exams, and requested time off.
Responsibilities include:
Complete daily accounting tasks such as invoice review and approval, vendor reconciliations & research, and recording of payroll and statistical data
Assist with the year-end tax and audit process (including gathering data for tax returns and preparation of IRS 1099 reportable expenses)
Prepare financial statements based on reporting deadlines, which includes analyzing monthly GL activity and statistical data as well as explaining budget variances
Prepare periodic use tax returns and assist with preparation of local tax returns
Assist with scheduled department projects, as well as lead ad hoc projects
Qualifications include:
Open to Accounting and/or Finance Major Undergraduates (who have completed a minimum of the first semester of their sophomore year) as well as grad students.
Financial and Managerial Accounting coursework completed.
GPA of 3.0 or higher.
This important position with PE requires a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
